DORA Signatory
The San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA) is a global initiative aimed at improving research assessment practices. It calls for an end to using journal impact factors as the sole criterion for evaluating scientific work and promotes more comprehensive and equitable evaluation methods.
Ceasing the use of journal impact factors to assess individual articles or researchers
Evaluating research based on its scientific merit, not on journal prestige
Recognizing research published in all languages
Supporting open science practices and diverse publication formats
Joining DORA fully aligns with the strategic goals of our institute. Reducing reliance on journal impact factors will allow our researchers to:
Forming an interdisciplinary working group to revise research assessment practices
Creating and approving a strategic plan for implementing DORA principles at the institute
Conducting training for faculty and researchers on the new assessment system
Adoption and start of application of updated research assessment criteria
